Any tourist worth his itinerary knows that walking through the skybridge of 88-storey high Petronas Twin Towers is the top-do list in the beautiful city of Kuala Lumpur. Anyone except me 🫣
Well, due to unforeseen circumstances (and bad planning on my side), me and my hubby weren’t able to tick Petronas Twin Towers off our bucket list. Even after visiting Kuala Lumpur twice in 2024.
And just so that you don’t make the same mistake as I did, I have already given a full account of how I missed this beauty align with all the mandatory things-to-keep-in-mind while booking Petronas Tower Tickets tickets in my previous blog.
Do read it!
ANYWAYS, HOPPING ON…

As we had already missed a visit to the renowned Petronas Twin Towers, we had to make it up by visiting the second most marvelous tower of Kuala Lumpur – The KL Tower.
Make no mistake! This 421-metre-high telecommunication tower is supposedly the seventh-tallest in the world. And its observation deck holds beautiful views of some of the most notable points of attraction in the city.

To avoid making the same mistake again, I booked the entry tickets well in advance from Klook. Marvelously, it turned out it was the right decision 🤷
COMMUTE FROM HOTEL TO KL TOWER
We caught the public bus suggested by Moovit app near our hotel and deboarded it near the tower gate. If you too prefer public transport, simply download the app and check out the route to the tower from your hotel. This app is way more efficient than Google Maps in Malaysia.
Otherwise, for a little extra money, you can book a cab from the Grab app, AirAsia app or Maxim app.

From the gate to the base of tower, it is a 10-15 minute slight-uphill walk. If you feel like it and the weather agrees with you, you can cover the distance on foot. However, for the comfort of the visitors, there is a shuttle service available at every 15-minute interval from 8 am to 10:30 pm right within the gate.

NOW LET’S TALK MONEY
During our October visit to the tower, we paid around RM 65 on the Klook app for 2 tickets meant for International Travelers i.e. RM 32.5 per ticket. This ticket was only for the access to KL Tower’s Observation Deck.
However, the offline ticket prices were as follows –

This is a snapshot of the prices pinned at the entry of KL Tower itself. So if we would have thought about buying them from the venue, two tickets would have costed us a whopping RM 120 😱

Even if I check the observation deck ticket prices now at Klook or Thrillopia, they are still way cheaper compared to the image above. Still, as the ticket is non-cancellable and just to be extra sure, you want to book them offline, you can do so at the counter or at self-help machine at the venue.
Opening hours of KL Tower are Monday to Sunday 9 am to 10 pm. Last admission is at 9:30 pm.
Moral of the story: If planning to visit KL Tower a.k.a Menara Kuala Lumpur any time, book your tickets online.
