We were here in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) in February (2024), and here we are back again in October. Within a span of only 8 months!

The reasons for our revisit are pretty basic, actually. Three reasons to be precise:

  1. This capital city of Malaysia acts as a good layover or transit between Thailand and India, and doesn’t cost much extra.
  2. Shopping here is fun and a little less expensive than in India. But only if you are buying electronics and cosmetics.
  3. We had a few points to spare for a 5-day 5-star hotel stay, so my hubby thought why not spend it all in a place with which we were familiar.

Aside from these points, there’s one more small reason behind my willingness to come back to this glittering hub.

Last time when we were here, I was unable to visit Petronas Twin Towers. So finally I had this chance to experience what I missed earlier. Yet somehow I managed to miss this precious chance again 😓

Note: I speak only of my experience in this post. My husband has nada interest whatsoever in visiting the top of a skyscraper to merely look down upon others (of course literally, not figuratively).

WHY, BUT WHY?

Sure, I have seen it from the outside like every other tourist or Malaysian. If I crane my neck out of our hotel window right now, I will be still able to catch a peek of this magnificent example of architecture.

Yet I simply can’t manage admission tickets to see it from the inside.

THE REASON

When we were doing our research on what places to visit in Kuala Lumpur, we came across 2-3 videos that stated it was better to book the admission tickets for the famous Petronas Twin Towers in advance from credible websites like Klook or Pelago. Like 4-5 days earlier than the actual date.

Well, guess what! Me being a reluctant woman and a big-time procrastinator did not bother to check this fact.

And when I did try to book them during our stay in Kuala Lumpur, it turned out you should actually book them 7-10 days prior to your actual visiting dates.

Below is the evidence of my futile attempt i.e. checking the availability of admission tickets to Petronus Twin Towers on 14 October. In case you don’t get the context, the dates with no visible price below them (here in INR) are unavailable.

Well, here is the amazing thing!

You never know what may actually bring the crowds to Kuala Lumpur during the days of your stay. To explain better, let me tell you what exactly happened during our stay at both the times in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

  • During February: There was massive a Chinese crowd in Kuala Lumpur to celebrate the occasion of Chinese New Year. So the families were rushing to see all the sights and tickets were vanishing way too fast than we (I) had anticipated.
  • During October: While its not crowded right now, we came at the time of Klook’s 10th birthday sale. In which they gave out tickets at discounted prices. Quite naturally, this resulted in all tickets being sold out.

Moral of the story: Don’t be reluctant like me!
Just book your tickets 7-8 days before to really enjoy the view from the top.
As for me, I will just make do with the view from the KL Tower 😔
